Volunteer Midlothian achieves Volunteer Friendly Award

We are delighted to announce that we have recently achieved the Volunteer Friendly Award for the way in which we involve and manage volunteers in our own work following the five strands of the Volunteer Friendly Award standard.

The Volunteer Friendly Award recognises excellent volunteer management practice and organisations have to provide evidence that they manage their volunteers effectively, treat them fairly, train and support them in their role, offer them the opportunity for personal development and celebrate the contribution they make to the organisation. Overall this demonstrates their commitment as an organisation to involving volunteers in satisfying and rewarding roles.

This award follows Volunteer Midlothian's recent success in achieving Investing in Volunteers back in July.

Anne Moodie, Director, said "Volunteering is at the heart of everything we do and our Staff work hard to ensure that we set a strong example by delivering a high standard of volunteer management.  It is great that this has been externally recognised and we can add the Volunteer Friendly Award to the Investing in Volunteers Award that we achieved earlier in the year.  Both awards demonstrate the fact that we greatly value our team of committed and talented volunteers and work hard to ensure that they receive an excellent volunteering experience."
